Penn Jillette on Evangelism

I received this through one of the bogs I follow. I wanted to share it here. As Phil Johnson said in his blog, kinda speaks for itself.

I think people are kind of missing Penn's point. Most of the Christian blogs that have posted this video have focused on the strength of this Christian's testimony to Penn, which is true enough. But Penn's point isn't that this Christian had a strong testimony but that this Christian was actually approachable and genuinely nice. I think it's actually kind of a sad statement that Penn highlights this guy as the exception, rather than the rule.

How very true this is. It is a sad statement that this is the exception. And while this may be HIS primary point, he also makes some very powerful statements about the issue of Proselytizing (in his terms). If we are failing to share the good news of the Gospel, it is revealing that we do not care enough about people to share what we believe. If we are not actively sharing the gospel with those around us, we cannot claim to love God or people. The fact that this man shared his faith contributes to the fact that Penn sees him as nice guy.
